Our STORY...
‘Young Envoys International’ a non profit organisation established its rural art center, ‘SANSKRITI’ in Hyderguda village in the R.R.District in 1994 to cater to the cultural needs of children from nearby villages. Hundreds of children from government schools and those with no education at all associated themselves with ‘Sanskriti’ to realise their artistic and creative needs to establish themselves as artists, architects, designers and creative individuals in various fields.
Trained in Drawing, painting and other forms of visual arts, the children have represented the center at 32 countries across the world winning accolades, developing a unique work culture and making a space for themselves outside rural peripheries. As one of the best child art centers in the world, the center is visited by dignitaries across the world and stands as a learning space for creativity and diligence.
Origin
OriginThe conception of Young Envoys International and Sanskriti finds its roots in Shri. B.A Reddy’s passion and years of commitment to painting and art education.
Shri. B.A Reddy started his career as an art teacher in Zila Parishad schools in small villages in Andhra where he motivated young people and children to engage in co-curricular activities and the arts. In 1963 he joined the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan where the cosmopolitan structure of the organisation had him work with the children of various cities, states, languages and cultures. His time of 37 years in the KVS enabled him to understand the diversity of culture and rich heritage of India which became a vehicle for his teaching of art.
Reddy’s pedagogical techniques paid rich dividends as thousands of students took to learning and practicing art. Art at the Vidyalay became an important subject for all students and international awards came in from prestigious world competitions held in Japan, Korea, Hungary, Philippines, etc. including 16 Soviet Land Nehru Awards.
While in the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, ‘Young Envoys International’ was born in 1982 when Shri. B.A Reddy and many of his students who won the Soviet Land Nehru Award and other international awards in painting came together to promote art among children. YEI was then later registered in 1987.
This organisation conducted exhibitions at International and national levels, camps, workshops, seminars, mobile displays engaging 40 countries and 34 lakh children in creating an international platform to showcase their imagination, ideas, skills and talents over the last 38 years. The Young Envoys put the children’s art field of India on the world map.
Building upon this work the Young Envoys established ‘Sanskriti’ a rural art center in a small house given by his wife Smt. Sarojini is a small village of Hyderguda in 1994.
Starting his teaching career about 6 decades back at the age of 18, Shri B.A Reddy’s journey as a teacher of art has been impacting students across various stratas of society for the last 60 years.
